Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday August 16th

Escrow.com

Over the past 10 years in domain investing, fall has been really good to me. This year seems to be getting an early jump.  My one word dot coms are getting a lot of good offers.  I’m in escrow for a five figure sale, and I’ve added some great names over the last few months.   Especially nice is all the focus on bitcoin.  The more people slide over, the less attention to domains and it leaves more for me.  Quality domains still attract quality prices but taking away just one bidder helps get a better price at auction .  People love the movement of bitcoin prices but business operate on domain names, not on bitcoin.  Why don’t I do both?   At this point I don’t feel the need to do both.   I am just fine with domains, my stocks, my land, and my nursery.  I’m content and happy.  I am going to stay in my lane.   Here are today’s names. Click for most recent price

Quote of the Day:   “We don’t always control what happens to us. But we ALWAYS control how we interpret what happens to us. As well as how we respond”  -From the book The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck (real book)

Domain of the Day:  3DGames.info      At $5 at press time.   Nice name for an online games site

Namejet Names at Auction

SEOBestPractices.com   14 bidders.  SEO is and always will be an important part of the Internet

CSR.org    Customer Service Representative.   With all the online ordering these are in high demand. 1996 domain

Sams.net  Its a dot net but a ton of businesses share this name and they can’t all have the dot net

CannaTrade.com    Online canna market.  I’ll trade you 2 ounces of Dragon Breath for 3 ounces of Cranberry Surprise

BrightChip.com     No bids.  I’ll take this at $69.  So now its one bid.

NaturalCookies.com  Pretty easy to use natural products and make desserts.  Only one bidder

RightSky.com   Another good brand sneaking through

Sedo and DropCatch Names at Auction

888733.com   No bids on this one and no reserve.  My name. Time to release it to the wild.  I think 888 is a good pattern

VRMX.com   Mexican Virtual Reality?

ZSDS.com   Met reserve under $1000

Weed.cc   Also my name at no reserve.

GolfCentral.com     Nice place to read a little PGA news or buy a driver with a head as big as a refrigerator

PotWarehouse.com   It’s where I get all my weed…..I mean pottery.  Only 3 bids

CodeOn.com  Keep calm and code on

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids

HealthyAndHappy.com    As I said the other day, two important things we strive to be

MobyDicks.com    Rock band or porno all the way. 1997 domain

CRMIntegration.com    There are Google ads for it and 33 million results.  That’s good enough to give value

BlockChainBet.com   Going to get bids just because its gambling and blockchain

MarkFord.com   Don’t know if all the bids are because of the businessman of this name or all the other people that share it

eBirdseed.com   Has some age.  Very competitive market but buyers are very loyal

ThimblePleasures.com   9 bids at $150 but to me sounds like a 3 year old saying “Simple Pleasures”

WDZQ.com   the Chinese are going to like this.   Already higher than the Domain Gang average

CTGP.com   This one is better for the Western market.  Should go higher than the above IMO

777238.com   Nice pattern of 7s at the front.  I think it hits four figures

MinMing.com   Another Chinese name that is high priced and I just am not sure why

MyPetOutlet.com   Some decent backlink history in this one

0678.cc   I say keyword .cc don’t have value. But the numerics sure do

Domains That I Like With One or No Bids

LIDQ.com Under $180 at press time.

StockPhotos.cc I think only a select few keywords have value in .cc and this is one of them. But no bidders

VirginPaper.com The good stuff. Not the recycled, common people paper

BransonLive.com If you’re old and/or you like Country music you love Branson Missouri.

PureCock.com Failed Chik-fil-a marketing campaign

Amazigo.com Not a ton of value but not bad for $12. Amazing and go had a baby

CryptoNewsHub.com All your crypto news in one place.

WePlayHarder.com good sports marketing name for $12

Ludora.com Sounds nice. Upgrade name for a few entities

ExtraChannels.com Good name for online tv service

SiteFlippers.com Going to take a build out to make it worth much but describes the content

FishTankMaintenance.com I passed this name three times on the list and thought “maybe”. But if this is what you do, its a great name to use for marketing. 16 years old

Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday August 14th

Escrow.com

I am constantly amazed how many businesses still don’t get it. Every single day I watch commercials or see billboards that have just the phone number.  I have a ZERO percent chance of remembering that phone number.  The pay to make the commercial, dance and sing, pay for a jingle, pay to run the commercial, and then leave me nothing to take action on.  Sure, I could go to Google and type in what I thought the name was and go from there but why leave it to the middle man?   I imagine nobody is guiding them in their marketing but the TV station should at least be smart enough to say “Maybe we can sing the web address not the random 10 number phone number”  In some ways I’m happy because it means there is progress to be made.  Domains to be sold.  On the other I hate to see people in my town throwing money down the drain . Here are today’s names. Click for most recent price

Quote of the Day:   “Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.”  -Stephen King

Domain of the Day:  HealthyAndHappy.com The two most important things in life IMO

Namejet Names at Auction

RetailExpert.com   It needs one right now.  22 bidders

FlyPaper.com   Officially a two word dot com but treated like a one word if that makes any sense.  As seen on DomainSherpa

A quick note.  I dismissed the .ws auction at Namejet until I saw something that I had to read twice.  Mostly because it has a typo but also because what it says.  It says that all the names at this .WS auction are renewed until 2099.  Yes ,2099.  Actually it says “don’t UNTIL Expire in 2099”  but on the side it says its correctly.  That means if you buy them you have 81 years to try and sell it without cost.  At least it makes it interesting

37R.com   You know I am a fan of NNL.com   Mostly because I have had nothing but success with them

BareAss.com     Down south we call it bare ass naked.  Or nekkid   No bidders

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids

CasinoLinks.com   There is still so much money in gambling affiliate links.  1997 domain

uApply.com    Online job board all the way

Cutlers.com  Getting a lot of bids because of all the businesses that are named Cutler.  I think of the Quarterback

JNUK.com   Doing better than par for a LLLL.com with a U

DontLink.com   I don’t follow instructions very well

Quran.me   The most import book to hundreds of millions of people

CloudToday.com    Looks like cloud names are still getting good bids

TCX.cc   LLL.cc used to be four figures but still holding good value for a .cc

OXJC.com    The C at the end is nice.  The X?   Not great placement

InfiniteSoul.com   Sounds like a murder mystery best seller from 1994

Domains That I Like With One or No Bids

BBM.net Big Bad Man

SugarBreak.com Great sugar buster name. We all need to take one

BackHomeFoods.com Essential this is what World Market type stores are

BitJay.com I’ll just put this here because there are no bids and it has bid in it

ThePrivilegedLife.com People talk bad about people with privilege but they sure do like to watch them on TV and follow them online

Kinsect.com Insect with a K. Get used to saying that if you use this name

DeepBlueCharters.com Upgrade name for a few companies

CoolLEDS.com The singular is already a company selling LEDS. I think the plural is actually better if you’re selling

ZipStock.com Plenty of companies with Zip in the name

GetWhatYouWishFor.com Not a bad name for a $12 price

DopeRope.com Where do you think they got the saying to “smoke a rope”. Of course I made that up

IsThisOriginal.com Plagiarism detection app or site

KickScan.com play on kickstand. Shoe site?

WristStyle.com I don’t have real numbers but I would guess that more watches have been sold this year than any time in the last 30 years. Even more than the swatch craze

Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Sunday August 13th

Escrow.com

Congrats to everyone that is making bank in Bitcoin.  I don’t have to tell you who they are, they will tell you.  I made myself feel better by looking at the 17,000 mums that we grew from cuttings.  While we have to use labor to cut and plant.  And money for soil and pots.  It is very nice to own the retail center and the growing operation so there is no middleman.  Every day Bitcoin returns when you make your own product and sell it at the final price.  Of course some people are making 10 times what I am making on mums, even 100 times with Bitcoin.   All with no work.  And yet I still am going to stick with plants and domains.  Even $4000 doesn’t faze me.   But I am happy to sell stuff to the people that have made so much money. Enjoy your Saturday

Here are today’s names. Click for most recent price

Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Thursday August 10th

Escrow.com

Remember when I told you that a major company was going to start offering Private Auctions?  Well that day is here.  Well, its almost here.  Its in beta and its going to disrupt the current auction market.  It’s like South Korea and their technology.  It was built after everyone else’s so it’s better.  The backend is brand new and makes putting up names easy peasy. Anyone can put up a name for sale within minutes.  You simply enter your domain, auth code, and reserve (or let it go no reserve) and everything is automatic.  The system checks to make sure you aren’t putting up a locked name and also guarantees that the name will get transferred.  What if I transfer out before the auction gets finished?  The auth code will be pinged regularly and if you move it the auction will be halted.  It’s simple, and it works.  I am testing it today to see how it works.

So who is doing this that is a “big player”?   DropCatch.     I put Weed.cc up for auction last night just to get a feel of the system.  Took less than a minute to put up. There really shouldn’t be much to putting up a name at auction and there wasn’t.   I see a few things that can be added like a choice of exactly what hour to end the auction but those will be added in due time.  There are a few other cool add ons coming down the road that I think will put some excitement in to the auctions as well but I’ll talk about that at a later date.  Of course I’ll announce when its out of beta and open for everyone.  And it will be open for everyone.

This doesn’t mean that Godaddy, Sedo,  and Namejet are any less valuable to our industry. They all do a good job. Now they will have to do even better.    Congrats to the Reyberry brothers on adding another great option to the industry . Here are today’s names. Click for most recent price

Quote of the Day:   “Creativity is intelligence having fun”  -Albert Einstein

IKE’S LIST OF DOMAINS AT AUCTION FOR Tuesday, August 8th

Escrow.com

A new Domain Sherpa episode was published this morning. It’s fun to see the contrast of different styles between the “premium guys” and others. I think it’s great that Amaar and Frank  have confidence in their names to set those prices. Confidence and nerves of steal is really the only way to get those prices. I think that they were able to get to that level by working the lower end of names first. Frank talked about packaging a group of construction names, in the early days and selling them with a little sweat.

I’m certainly not opposed to shooting for those prices on certain names, and I do have an “out” by leaving the landing page without a BIN price. My main focus is moving and selling names because for me, having momentum and getting sales is more fun. As I progress I do occasionally put a really high BIN price on certain names.

My thinking has always been that pricing above 10K shrinks your audience down to a very small level, and that lower level is willing and able to spend money on aftermarket domains, just not that much. I’ve also found that if I put the work in, I can find lots of names that I think will sell everyday. It might not be the best course of action, I have no idea if I price every name I own at $25K if any would sell. I do think that the process I’ve followed has allowed me to better identify names that could sell for $25K and which ones will easily sell for a lower profit.

I’m glad that Ammar sold Vape.io, I own Vape.ly and hopefully in a few years North Africa will stabilize and someone will buy it. :) I hand regged it a few year ago.

Main List

The No Bid List

AliveWay.com  This name made me think of drug rehab, or anything that has to do with changing course from habits or activities that increase the likely of early death.

CallDepartment.com  Here’s a name to set up one of those call centers that use a local number to call you and tell you that the IRS is suing you.

CanTool.com  I passed over this one initially, but on a second look I see it as a tool that helps you do things, like an encouraging helper for difficult tasks. Of course it could also be a can opener, or canning type of product.

CitySaga.com  Sounds like a book about a certain city with an interesting history.

CoverRack.com  A product that protects the rack

CultCloud.com  A group of people that worship clouds

DearEmployer.com  A site to anonymously complain about your employer in letter form, but for everyone to read

DentalIdentity.com  A database of dental records, in case you get burned beyond recognition.

DoLights.com  Sell lights

DuctScrub.com  A product to clean dust and mold out of your HVAC system duct work.

EstimateGuy.com  Need an estimate for a project? Call the Estimate Guy. Could be an online estimation tool for construction or remodeling projects or a marketing name for a local company

EyeAir.com  The eye in the sky, or maybe a site that tracks air quality

FairResponse.com  A mediation group of some sort

FlexSide.com  A new housing material for the exterior of old homes. This product easily goes over old siding, deteriorating brick or block. Re pointing brick is labor intensive and expensive, and painting old exteriors can cost just as much as new siding and aluminum wrapping.

HappyFourth.com  A marketing name for fourth of July specials

HealingFx.com   A feel good site about people overcoming illness

HeroLord.com  A video game

LifetimeWarrior.com  Always fighting

LuckCoach.com  Helps train you to improve your luck

RealBull.com  A brand or some sort, or a site that calls out BS.

RentalOasis.com  Oasis has a positive connotation, it makes me think of lush green living things in the midst of desolation

RootGrind.com  I like the word root as a brandable keyword, this one could be that or a service that removes tree stumps and roots

SolarTwist.com Add this solar name to your collection

StrategicHand.com

SunAdvise.com Could be a solar consultation company, or beach forecast

TigerPortal.com  Like a cat door except for your pet tiger

UpManage.com  I like this one a lot. Management company for anything, Up is positive and also has numerous uses.

VoicePlugin.com  A WP tool

WifiDetector.com  At first I thought it was a bit outdated, but there is more and more public wifi networks going up. I’m still not sure how useful it would be since it’s usually built in to whatever device you’re using.

Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday August 7th

Escrow.com

On the road again looking at colleges and meeting coaches.  This weekends quick trip was to my Alma Mater, The University of Alabama.  While not the academics of our previous trips to Cornel and other Ivy leagues, boy do the have some sports money.  The money that bleeds down from the football program sure gives some nice swag and facilities to the other sports.  Throw in a free education and its worth taking a look at.  I spent my early childhood and college years there so it was a bit emotional bringing your kid to the areas where you were a kid yourself.  Made me feel old but also helped me relive the journey to this point in time that is so incredible.  Seeing the field that I scored my first goal.  The dorm where I officially became on my own.  I have always looked for a place I call home and going back certainly gave me that sense.  Not sure if my daughter will choose my school but its worth showing her why I think its special and let her take it from there.   I hope you have as big of a smile today as I have had all weekend.  Here are today’s names. Click for most recent price

IKE’S LIST OF DOMAINS AT AUCTION FOR Saturday, August 5th

Escrow.com

Here’s another expired auction platform registrar change that I found yesterday: Cyger can add it to the list with the recent Domain.com change

It looks like Fast Domain Inc now sends their domains to Godaddy. The name that brought this to my attention today is  BitsHub.com. According to the whois record the domain is at bluehost, which I believe was previously sending their expired inventory to Snap maybe namejet.  I know I’ve won auctions from one of them that had names registered at Bluehost. I remember it really well because Bluehost kept sending me hosting ads.

I’m not sure if Bluehost is a fully accredited registrar or a reseller, as the registrar listed is FastDomains LLC. According to DomainSherpa.com  list of auction partners, FastDomains does not have a partner, but maybe that just changed.

abuse@bluehost.com  is associated with ~1,585,130 domains

Cheaper and faster then the emergency department, faster and more expensive then a Dr’s visit.  (*Note: I double checked emergent to make sure I was using it correctly. Apparently I wasn’t, as it is noted in several publications as a common error, mostly in medical writings, to use emergent as an adjective form of emergency. However there are other publications defining the word as “calling for immediate action, urgent”. So who knows if it’s right. )

Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Thursday August 3rd

Escrow.com

We discuss it more in length on Sherpa on Monday but we have a pretty good show on generic vs brand.   Ammar Kubba, Frank Schilling, and myself on the panel this coming week and the portfolio brings out the topic of technology and how to capitalize on it using domains..   We discuss brands and the fact that most companies are not naming their company the generic product name, rather coming up with a name that represents their products.  Unless its a major category and a brand unto itself like Matress.com or Shoes.com, they are going with a name like Chewy.com or Zappos.   Its the reason why one word dot coms are skyrocketing in cost.  And why two word generics are moving towards zero if they don’t make a good brand.   On two word dot come the singular is generally the brand and the plural is the product.  For instance.  SugarMaple.com is a great brand.  But SugarMaples.com is about the tree.  Of course there are exceptions.  But its a good way to think when putting value on names.  Here are today’s names. Click for most recent price

Quote of the Day:  “Spoon feeding in the long run teaches us nothing but the shape of the spoon” -E. M. Forster

Domain of the Day:  TheHashtag.com    Great twitter name.  Really any social media

Namejet Names at Auction

WaterSupply.com    1996 domain.  One of the most important resources on earth.  OK the most important

HybridBike.com  As seen on DomainSherpa.   We all liked it but agreed its a bit generic and that a bike company is not going to use it to name their company.  More as a marketing name

ActionSolar.com   I like solar names. I think a lot of companies are created around it in the near future

SolarMadeSimple.com   Someone else agrees as they’ve put a lot of solar names up for sale on Namejet today.  Some good ones in there

YogaStars.com    You know they should be pretty flexible

Sex.ws   Here you go.  Alan one of the original owners is dumping his .ws names.  If you want to buy low here is your chance

LiveRoots.com   See your family history or plant root stimulator

Flowers.ws  I have to admit, as little confidence as I have in .ws this one is appealing

Staplers.net  If you want to do a whole site selling staplers this would do it

888391.com   I took a bath with my 888, 6N.com but still like them

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids

EternalWave.com   Love this one.  The eternal wave is a surfers dream.  1997 domain

FashionSpace.com   Four figure bids already.  A lot of money in fashion.  Even Jessica Simpson is selling hundreds of millions of dollars worth of cloth

Esoterra.com   Terra and esoteric together make a pretty brand

eSugar.com   Sugar has been a big part of brands and obesity for decades

Spresso.com   Nice brand .  Expresso comes to mind but more than coffee

SunsetGarden.com     I would like to see an S but at this price still good for a retirement center or Chinese restaurant

Enseco.com   Most of results come up for the energy company name of the same name

LocalShipping.com     Internet and shipping.  The future

Kovio.com  Nice 5L.com

LocalVocal.com    Brands that rhyme are more memorable.  A few bidders agree

SellHouseQuick.com  A bit Tarzanish but people will get it

ITAss.com   I guess it could be iTass but I like my capitalization better.  Several bidders

KWR.cc     LLL.cc still holding on to value

Domains That I Like With One or No Bids

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.com You’ve been waiting. Here it is. 49 Zs. Don’t be afraid of the cost

Nude.cc 1998 and no bidders. Keyword .cc don’t get very good prices

Hurricanes.net Weather or Miami fan

Stewdent.com I think this is pretty funny

LogoHouse.com Hell of a buy at this price

TrashyNovel.com Everyone loves them in the summer. Could be a brand too

SwampKing.com I can hear the southern accent in the commercial

ExtraLuck.com Who can’t use a little extra luck?

HealthyFootwear.com Not sure how footwear can be healthy but that’s not important. As long as they think its healthy I guess

OriginalVape.com Even if you aren’t the original

FlowMobile.com don’t love it but it’s getting some bids and I love the word flow

55TD.com The 55 will draw some bids

Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday August 2nd

Escrow.com

I bought Apple stock back in the 90s as my first stock purchase.  I traded Apple options to make extra money back in the late 2000s.  I bought Apple stock in the late 90s to invest for my daughter’s college.   It paid off.  Literally, Apple has paid for everything.  My daughter will have her college education paid for all because my grandfather used Apples to run the nursery back in the 70s.  Its all I knew.  I have owned an Apple computer for 31 years.  I invested in what I liked.  When I fell in love with the phone, I bought more stock.  When I bought the stock Apple was not the shiny company it is now.   We ran our nursery on Apple but the choices of business software was very limited.   Then came the clones.  Yes there was a day when other companies could make computers that ran Apple OS.   The stock did nothing until iPod and iPhone came around and changed everything.

I don’t get caught up on the day to day stock because the 7 to 1 split a few years ago makes a small price movement represent thousands of dollars to our retirement. It would drive me crazy watching it go up and down.   Any financial investor would have told us we’re crazy to have so many eggs in one basket.  But really it represented a small percentage of our actual dollars invested but because of the splits and huge increases in 20 years, it represent the vast majority of our total.

“You need to sell and diversify”   I looked at it and I can’t find another stock that I think is better.  And earnings like last night prove it for the millionth time.  The 9 dollar price movement buys my daughter a semester of college.  All because I put my money in what I know.  Products and services that I enjoy.  I have had two losers in ALL of my investing in things that I like. That’s  50 plus stock purchases.  And they are two things I love.  Twitter and Chipotle.   Twitter can’t monetize a great platform. And Chipotle on the surface has food health issues but I know its staffing problems.  The quality of staff has plummeted and its no coincidence that lower quality food and poor food safety has followed.   I’m getting out of Chipotle soon but I love the food too much to pull the trigger.  Twitter will be removed soon as well.  Adding Axon and Garmin.  I think Garmin makes the best sports watch and Axon is a good takeover target with their body cameras and taser guns.    None of this is investment advice.  They will all dump if you buy them.  Just talking about what I’m doing.  Do your own homework and buy what YOU know.

PS:  The old owner of .WS is dumping all his short .ws on Namejet if you’re looking to add some premium quality shitty domains to your portfolio.  You never know, it could recover.  Here are today’s names. Click for most recent price

Quote of the Day:  “Only the guy who isn’t rowing has time to rock the boat”  Jean-Paul Sarte

Domain of the Day:  RapidCharger.com     More and more things are going to need to be charged in your life.  This is a four/five figure name IMO.

Namejet Domains

Emojis.com     Big boy name.  Or should I say 15 year old girl name.

HiddenMode.com  I think VPN when I see it

PropertyWizard.com  Let me do a little magic and help you sell your home

EliteCapital.com   Sounds like a billion dollar investment fund already

NRSS.com    Good letters to most people

CardCenter.com   Credit cards are what gives this the most value but could be any type of card

Sedo Names at Auction

7306.com   One of the better NNNN.com that have come up for auction in the last few months

LABowl.com    Might be the game bowling or the Hollywood Bowl

VIN.io    Got a pretty good opening offer

Lucao.com  The footballer is the first thing that comes to mind.  Maybe he’s bidding

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids

VisualSystems.com   This is much more likely to be a name of a VR player than a name with VR in it.  VR labels them and they may become much more than just VR.  1995 domain

CollectorClub.com   People collect a lot of things.  But I don’t think .club domains are going to be the best return.  Get the dot com

Kitesurfing.org   Here’s the future name for the kitesurfing organization

SalmonFestival.com   There is such thing.  I eat it 3 to 4 times a week.  Every day is a salmon festival at my house

Kavax.com   Most pronounceable 5L.coms are worth taking a look at

OriginalAutoparts.com   Anyone restoring cars knows that finding original parts can be difficult at times. The internet has changed things and made it easier.  This name is perfect for that industry

Perca.com   Great name.  Several meanings in different languages.  Also is perch fish.  And its short

RoyalHeritage.com   Upgrade name for TONs of things using the mark

WinePouch.com    I think its called a Boda

YouUs.com  Not sure why all the bids so I’ll just leave it here

Barbio.com   The Brazilian soccer player probably the most famous Barbio but leaves it open to have another thing with the name

MakeItPublic.com    My guess is this would be a public records activism site

InnerBeing.com   People are starting to figure out that they need to work their inner self as much as their physical self

Domains That I Like With One or No Bids

KeywordCost.com Great tool to find out the cost of keywords on Google ads

RentOurHome.com Another VRBO or AirBnB

TheOrganicMarket.com Generic Whole foods name

ArboristDirect.com Not huge value but arborist are very scarce and trees are dying in huge numbers across the nation. 1998 domain

GreatEndings.com Everyone loves a good ending. No bids at press time

PondJuice.com Keep your pond healthy and clean

JetSilver.com Jet names have traditionally done pretty well

Temperaturas.com Temperaures in Spanish

LeafCap.com I like short leaf names. Don’t sell a lot but I still like them. NO bids

Shamazon.com If somebody wanted to build an Amazon shame site

CuddleButt.com Kinda of cute term of affection. Maybe a brand

TheBigEngine.com Got have a big engine to move fast

BatchRunner.com Sounds like software

VintageBling.com Traditional yet fleek

95MM.com I bet this sells. Maybe at closeouts but the double M and the gun reference will move it

StreamLiveSports.com I admit I have googled this term when looking for a sport on a channel I don’t get

BoomHealth.com Memorable and health is a top category right now
