Even aliens can’t get our attention without a website.
Squarespace (NYSE: SQSP) has been a regular fixture in the Super Bowl for many years now.
The company, which is one of the largest website builders and now (thanks to its acquisition of Google Domains) one of the largest domain name registrars, returns to today’s game with “Hello Down There.”
It’s the company’s tenth Super Bowl ad.
The commercial depicts aliens arriving on Earth, but no one is paying attention because they’re visiting websites on their phones and laptops. To get human attention, the aliens need to create a website.
Squarespace has a clever tagline: A website makes it real.
The 30-second commercial directed by Martin Scorsese might be a bit difficult to follow. But there’s a longer cut that is not restricted by the $7 million Super Bowl ad rate. I’ve embedded the full version below.
