ICANN’s CIO quits

Ashwin Rangan, ICANN’s chief information officer, has quit after almost 10 years with the Org.

ICANN said today that he had left December 1, after having been “on medical leave recovering from an injury sustained several months ago”.

The Org said it was a “retirement”.

Usually, when ICANN announces the departure of a senior executive, it lies about the reason for the departure. This time, I think it sounds like it’s probably legit.

Andre Abed, VP of relationship and delivery management, has been named as Rangan’s interim successor.

I’m afraid to say I don’t know what “relationship and delivery management” means, either.

ICANN clearly doesn’t give a shit either.

Andre
